The London City Orchestra, Camden, Bromley and Green Street Green choirs are singing and playing their way through Ralph Vaughan Williams, A Sea Symphony on 23rd and 30th November 2019.
This epic work A Sea Symphony is Vaughan Williams' first and longest symphony, it was first performed at the Leeds Festival in 1910, with the composer conducting. One of the first symphonies in which a choir is used throughout the work and is an integral part of the musical texture.
If you would like to join us and sing with one of the choirs, then please email Amanda at
Please note that this is a complex work to sing and we could only take singers that have either sung this work before or who are used to sight singing this level of piece

How to apply
If you are interested in joining London City Orchestra, please register your interest with Amanda (the orchestra members manager) by emailing email@example.com and state your full name, mobile number, instrument and a short background about your playing history.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions about the application or audition process and we look forward to hearing from you!
All members are required to audition for their place in the orchestra by way of playing a short series of excerpts to our conductor, Pablo Urbina. This is merely to judge if you are able to play to the standard that is conducted within a normal rehearsal and to aid with seating arrangements. You will not be made to play any solos (unless you are applying for a string leader, woodwind or brass position).
We are sure everyone will play wonderfully and we look forward to having more members!
The fees per term are £80* (standard) and £60* (concession).
The fees help pay for all the costs of running the orchestra (such as venue hire for rehearsals, website costs, music hire, insurance etc.) as well as the all-important tea and biscuits in our rehearsal breaks!
To be considered for sponsorship, please get in touch for information about our sponsorship programme.
Please note that the first rehearsal for new members is free, in order to give you a chance to try us out. After that fees are payable by bank transfer (preferable), cheque or cash.
*Concessions are available for students, unemployed or unwaged members.
