The London City Orchestra is looking for musicians to join our orchestra.
We are looking for:
All string players, especially double basses
With Monday rehearsals in the City, we produce top quality concerts at venues all over London performing varied and challenging repertoire. We are looking for grade 8+ standard and a good level of orchestral experience and commitment. Please send your CV or a brief summary of your orchestral experience to Amanda at firstname.lastname@example.org
Repertoire for the spring term concert (4th of April 2020):
Janáček | The Cunning Little Vixen Suite
Mahler | Symphony No. 4.
If you are interested in any of the positions or being a regular deputy for the London City Orchestra, please contact Amanda at email@example.com and state your full name, mobile number, instrument and a short background about your playing history.
All members are required to audition for their place in the orchestra by way of playing a short series of excerpts to our conductor. This is merely to judge if you are able to play to the standard that is conducted within a normal rehearsal and to aid with seating arrangements.
The fees per term are £85 (standard) and £60 (concession*).
The fees help pay for all the costs of running the orchestra (such as venue hire for rehearsals, website costs, music hire, insurance etc.) as well as the all-important tea and biscuits in our rehearsal breaks!
To be considered for sponsorship, please get in touch for information about our sponsorship programme.
Please note that the first rehearsal for new members is free, in order to give you a chance to try us out. After that fees are payable by bank transfer (preferable), cheque or cash.
* Concessions are available for students, unemployed or unwaged members.
